Join us on a 6-hr cruising and sailing adventure to see the annual migration of the whales off Sydney Heads along the coast.

10:00am – 4:00pm . . 6 hrs from Mosman
Event Outline
Pickup - our 40ft sailing yacht (or tender) will greet you on a walk-on walk-off marina pontoon in a beautiful setting from Mosman Bay Marina / Mosman Rowers Club
Outward Journey - the day begins with a very short safety briefing. We explain the basic parts of the yacht as well as the use of sails, winches, halyards and ropes as art of the sailing experience. For Mosman Bay clients there could be a Manly Boat Shed pickup around 10:45am for those joining us at this location.
Whale Watching - next, we head out towards the Sydney Harbour Heads to get a front row seat and watch these incredible creatures on their migration north or south (with offspring). We’ll aim to set sail in the general vicinity as these graceful marine animals are more likely to approach a sailing vessel then if under motor. Noting we need to keep 300m from all animals.
Return Journey – on the way back we will sail through the heads to Port Jackson and return to base at either Manly Boat Shed or Mosman Bay.
Prerequisites – No experience is necessary.
Availability – cruises will be available on scheduled dates, generally on Friday, Saturday or Sundays. We require a minimum of 4 participants run this unique cruise/sail experience. We recommend to organise & book with a group of 4 to ensure it goes ahead. Otherwise, join a waitlist or call us on 02 8467 2385 and we’ll coordinate with you joining another group.

What to Bring
Personal Gear - Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, soft soled shoes (white preferred), warm layer, wind/rain jacket and a curious mind.
Food and Drink – this is a non-catered cruise. Please bring you own lunch, snacks and drinks. The yacht has a fridge, and we can supply a cooler if required.
Other – Camera.
Please read the Atlas Sailing refund policy before registering. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the event as there are limited places available. If a cruise is cancelled by Atlas Sailing due to weather (wind, rain or swell), or other force majeure circumstance, participants will be offered a place on another scheduled date or a full refund.
